Norms for materials

The spring wire that Hagens Spring Group uses for manufacturing is classified depending on the tensile strength.
Regardless of the material, it is all about quality. Therefore, a close collaboration with the producers and the suppliers of raw materials is an important factor.
To choose the right supplier of raw materials for springs requires solid knowledge of the industry.
Hagens Spring Group only uses materials that meet applicable standards - chiefly EN standards.
It is all about tensile strength
The spring wire that Hagens Spring Group uses for manufacturing is classified depending on the tensile strength.
- EN 10270-1, DH and SH – highest tensile strength - is used for especially stressed springs of all types
- EN 10270-1, DM and SM – medium tensile strength – is primarily utilized for compression springs and lateral springs.
- EN 10270-1, SL – lowest tensile strength – is used for tension springs, where the low tensile strength and high pliability is an advantage for forming the loops. It is also used for spring rings, loops and similar.
Supply of specifications for raw materials
Regardless of the material it is all about quality. Therefore, a close collaboration with the producers and the suppliers of raw materials is an important factor.
Hagens Spring Group will gladly supply specifications of the raw materials along with the ordered springs.
