Danish Food Approval Act.
Material in contact with food must comply with both Danish and European legislation.
Materials that are going to be in contact with foods are subject to special requirements. These requirements are described in EU regulation 1935/2004. The regulation covers materials and articles intended for direct or indirect contact with foods. Furthermore, it requires that materials in contact with foods must be within non-contamination limits and will not:
- Endanger human health.
- Cause unacceptable changes to the composition of the food.
- Cause deterioration of the food Organoleptic Properties.
The legislation imposes requirements to ensure "Good manufacturing practice", including suitable environment, appropriately trained personnel, correct and relevant manufacturing processes, etc.
Conformity Statement.
For all orders manufactured where the above procedures are required Hagens Spring Group Støvring will provide a declaration of conformity with the following:
- Customer's drawing No.
- Material description – including compliance with customer requirements.
- Declaration of possible deviation which may:
- Endanger human health.
- Cause unacceptable changes in the composition of the food.
- Cause a deterioration in the food Organoleptic Properties.
- prerequisite for compliance and quality of products.
- Proof of traceability to material supplier.
- Confirmation of complaints and deviations system.
Legal requirements regarding registration.
Under section 28 of the Danish Food Act, Law No. 526 and Authorization No. 149 Companies in Denmark that import, manufacture or market materials and articles intended for contact with food must be registered with the Danish Food Authority.
