Wire parts made to your drawing
Four part families formed from wire and tube
Wire parts are the components HAGENS forms, bends and cuts rather than coils into springs, so a part that has to store and release energy belongs with our custom springs instead. What remains falls into four families: harvester tines for agricultural machinery, locking rings that hold two components securely together, single and double pins, and bent tubes. The dimensional span across those four is wide enough that many fastening, locating and conveying problems can be solved in wire or tube rather than in a machined part. Locking rings are produced from 0.1 mm to 25.0 mm in thickness, pins from 0.5 mm to 8.0 mm, harvester tines in spring wire up to 18 mm, and tubes from 5 mm to 50 mm in diameter and up to 2000 mm long. Every wire part is made to the customer’s drawing, because the geometry that solves the problem is rarely the one already sitting in a catalogue, so the figures below describe the working range rather than a fixed range of items.
- Harvester tines: spring wire up to 18 mm, supplied painted or galvanised with the colour matched to the machine
- Locking rings: 0.1 mm to 25.0 mm thickness, internal or external retaining rings, ends flat or curved for better fastening, with or without arms
- Pins: 0.5 mm to 8.0 mm, single or double, hairpin form or a coupling geometry of your own
- Tubes: 5 mm to 50 mm diameter, up to 2000 mm long, bend radius standard 2 x diameter and down to 1 x diameter, bend directly into bend without a straight section
Specified, measured and documented before it ships
A wire part rarely fails on the bench. It fails after the tenth thousand cycle in the field, or after a winter of salt on the machine, which is why the work starts long before forming. Our engineers and technicians go through your drawing and specification and calculate the part first, so questions about tooling, radii and surface treatment are answered while they still cost nothing to change. Production then follows a fixed documentation procedure, and no product leaves HAGENS before it has been through final inspection on measuring equipment. What accompanies the parts is your decision: a material certificate at one end of the scale, full PPAP documentation at the other, with salt spray, life cycle and relaxation testing and CMM measurement available where the application calls for proof rather than assurance.
- Drawing and specification reviewed and calculated by our engineers before production starts
- Documentation scaled to your requirement, from material certificate to full PPAP
- Salt spray, life cycle and relaxation testing plus CMM measurement on request
- Certified to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 13485, so the same forming capability serves automotive, medical, industrial and agricultural customers
HAGENS has been forming metal components in Denmark since 1945 and is still family owned in the third generation. Bring the tine, ring, pin or tube you cannot buy off the shelf, and we will work out how it is best formed.
